Who we are looking for...
We are seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our Traffic Engineering / Transportation Planning Team to support our Land Development practice. The following skills will be required for this position:
- Traffic impact analysis, traffic signal warrant analysis, crash analysis, intersection control evaluations, conceptual design, travel demand modeling, design traffic, traffic forecasting, proportionate fair share calculations, mobility fee estimations, site access studies and internal circulation studies.
- This position will coordinate with multiple other disciplines including site engineering, roadway design, land use planning and survey.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer License
- A background in transportation planning, transportation engineering, and/or traffic engineering is desired
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS
- Basic understanding of the use of traffic analysis tools such as Synchro/Sim Traffic, VISSIM, CORSIM, Sidra and HCS
- Basic understanding of FDOT green book, roadway design standards, Florida Design Manual, Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Manual of Uniform Traffic Studies, Manual of Intersection Control Evaluation, and Institute of Transportation Engineers Trip Generation Manual and Handbook

Success in this job relies on your time management skills, organization, and positive attitude. In addition, you’ll need the following qualifications:
- Ability to work well in groups as well as independently.
- Manage projects and train staff.
- Meet with clients, prepare scopes of work and proposals.
- Present technical findings and act as an expert witness in front of elected officials for land use amendments, rezoning, and public amendments.
- The ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines simultaneously.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
