    POSITION SUMMARY:
    This position will support the Coordinator of Multilingual Gifted Education and CLDE School Level Teachers with Title III duties that support Englewood’s multilingual families. The CLDE (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education) Family Engagement Liaison is a part-time position dedicated to supporting and facilitating the enrollment process for CLDE families, ensuring they have access to resources and communication channels that help them navigate school logistics. This position also provides valuable support to CLDE teachers on student engagement and serves as an advocate for CLDE students and their families. The liaison will be responsible for translating and interpreting for informal meetings and conversations between families and school staff, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all families.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Communicate with families information regarding the CLDE: English Language Development Program
    • Support Title III programs and activities for students and parents
    • Apply and implement knowledge, skills, and new understandings to improve EL programming and EL parent engagement activities
    • Understands and respects the diversity of families’ economic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds and situations
    • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings
    • Translation and Interpretation for Spanish-speaking families
    • Assist CLDE families with the enrollment process, ensuring that they understand district policies, procedures, and required documentation
    • Provide guidance to families regarding school registration, including assistance with completing forms and understanding school schedules
    • Collaborate with district and school staff to ensure smooth transitions for CLDE students entering the district
    • Help CLDE families understand daily school routines, transportation, lunch programs, and other essential school logistics
    • Act as a liaison between families and school administration to address any questions or concerns related to school activities or operations
    • Assist in coordinating school events, parent-teacher conferences, and other family engagement activities
    • Work closely with CLDE teachers to support strategies for engaging and motivating CLDE students in the classroom
    • Provide advocacy for CLDE students by ensuring their needs are being met and helping to communicate those needs to the appropriate school personnel
    • Offer insight and cultural perspectives that may assist educators in better supporting their students
    • Provide translation and interpretation services for CLDE families during informal meetings with school staff (e.g., teacher-parent meetings, informal conferences, etc.)
    • Facilitate communication by translating school documents, letters, and forms into the preferred language of CLDE families
    • Ensure families feel understood and supported in their communication with school staff, reducing language barriers
    • Build strong relationships with CLDE families by regularly reaching out and maintaining open lines of communication
    • Promote school activities, resources, and opportunities for engagement, helping families feel connected and informed
    • Serve as a trusted resource for families seeking support with the academic, emotional, and social needs of their children

    EDUCATION/TRAINING EXPERIENCE
    Bachelor of Arts preferred or equivalent education and experience.
    Bilingual in Spanish required.
    English fluency will be determined through the interview process.

    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

    Valid driver’s license (required)

    Certification in translation and interpretation

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Frequent lifting (five to ten pounds)

    Occasional lifting of up to fifty pounds

    Frequent sitting, bending, walking and standing

    Occasional stooping, kneeling, squatting and reaching


    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    Mostly clean and comfortable and some noise
    Occasional exposure to temperature extremes

    Multilingual Gifted Education Coordinator

    LOCATION:
    Roscoe Davidson Administration Building

    COMPENSATION:
    Starting hourly rate $24.93 – 28.20 per hour based on job-related experience.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    New hires or rehires will be responsible for the fingerprint processing fee required for background checks through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

    This is a grant-funded position pending annual grant renewal by CDE.
