- Provide excellent customer service.
- Prepare and serve healthy, nutritious and appetizing breakfast and lunch to stakeholders.
- Cashier and student account management. Accurate recording of reimbursable meals utilizing point of sale system.
- Ensure site, equipment and textile cleanliness/sanitation according to federal, state and local guidelines and rules including the HACCP program.
- Assist with guaranteeing proper food storage based on federal, state and local nutritional standards and guidelines.
- Provide feedback regarding the meals that have been offered.
- Assist in the preparation of flavorful, nutritional and national school lunch (NSLP) compliant meals.
- Promote food service purchases through marketing, stakeholder buy-in, taste tests, student involvement, etc.
- Provide continuous monitoring to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate and support school activities that encourage stakeholder involvement in student learning.
- Assist with the implementation of standards and procedures.
- Deliver quality, accurate, constructive, corrective, specific and timely feedback to employees that encourages them to perform at their highest level.
- Serve as leader by supporting and actively participating in professional development for staff.
- Coach and encourage others in the use of technology to enhance achievement and accuracy.
- Demonstrate patience with stakeholders when implementing new systems, policies/procedures, etc.
- Attend conferences, trainings, and other professional development to remain current on nutrition matters.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will prepare, and service breakfast and lunch to stakeholders adhering to state, federal and district policies and procedures. Ensure a smooth flow of students through the payment and point of sale system. Follow oral and written position instructions. Support in all matters related to the preparation and delivery of meals. Ensure delicious and nutritious meals are provided daily to support student learning and achievement. Accountable for customer service, compliance, food preparation and delivery, cashiering, and cleaning. Provide participative feedback regarding menu planning and food production. Partner with mentors, interns, and community members to advocate for healthier and flavorful meals for students. Assist manager with report preparation, and record maintenance in accordance with USDA, CDE and district policies. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Bilingual (preferred).
English fluency will be determined through the application and interview process.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Colorado Driver’s License.
Serving It Safe certification within one year of hire.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Regular exposure to odors, moisture (wet/humid), extreme heat and cold, and moving mechanical parts.
Occasional exposure to extreme weather, hazardous materials, and bodily fluids.
Mostly clean and comfortable.

Nutrition Services Manager or designee.

SALARY:
Hour rate based upon current district Nutrition Service Associate placement. Position will be paid hourly, one month in arrears (i.e. Hours worked in July will be paid in August).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
New hires or rehires will be responsible for the fingerprint processing fee required for background checks through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
