What are the responsibilities and job description for the Queen's Engineering Competition (QEC) Coordinator Positions position at EngSoc?
The Queen’s Engineering Competition (QEC) is an annual event that allows engineering students from different disciplines attending Queen’s University to compete in a variety of engineering competition categories. QEC showcases the innovation and creativity of Queen’s Engineering students, throughout a weekend of good-natured competition. The winners of each category are selected to compete at the Ontario Engineering Competition (OEC), where they compete for cash prizes and a chance to attend the Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC).
We are currently hiring Coordinators in the following departments, with the number of positions for each respective department:
- Challenges
- Logistics
- Marketing
- Sponsorships
General
- Work term will be from May 2024 to the Conference date in November 2024
- Passion for creativity and innovation in STEM
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic
Challenges Coordinator
- Determine the outline of the challenge and ensure feasibility
- Supervise competitors and run challenge on day of competition
- Work with logistics team to determine the size of venue and budget needed for resources
- Create and present a delegate/rubric package for each challenge
Logistics Coordinator
- Manage delegate registration and accommodations prior to conference
- Research possible venues and caterers to host QEC
- Work closely with Finance Director to ensure all expenses are within budget
Marketing Coordinator
- Help manage QEC website and social media platforms
- Take photos and videos during the event
- Plan in-person marketing campaigns for registration and other operations
Sponsorship Coordinator
- Identify and engage potential sponsors
- Maintain relationships with sponsors and ensure their expectations are met
- Work closely with the team to integrate sponsorship contributions effectively
