About the Role:
A growing construction company in the Bedford Park, IL area is seeking a Payroll & QuickBooks Specialist to join its team. This role will focus primarily on processing payroll while also handling general bookkeeping and accounting tasks using QuickBooks. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and be comfortable managing multiple accounting responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing:
- Accurately process payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain payroll records, including tax filings, deductions, and benefits.
- Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies.
- QuickBooks & General Accounting:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial reports in QuickBooks.
- Assist with job costing and expense tracking for construction projects.
- Prepare financial statements and reports as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in payroll processing and QuickBooks is required.
- Construction industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of prevailing wage, certified payroll, and union payroll is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
