We’re looking for a skilled Data Scientist to join a growing analytics team focused on building next-generation risk management systems for a modern energy infrastructure platform. This is a mid-level role suited to someone with strong analytical instincts, programming fluency, and an interest in real-world applications of risk modeling in complex, high-variability markets.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing risk models and analytical tools that help track and forecast exposures across a network of distributed power assets and retail customer portfolios. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across data, trading, and engineering teams to ensure that the platform remains accurate, scalable, and deeply aligned with real-time market dynamics.
What You’ll Do:
- Architect and maintain risk analytics infrastructure to monitor exposure and performance across multiple energy asset classes and customer segments.
- Design robust models to evaluate and forecast position-level and portfolio-level risk.
- Build tooling to analyze historical and live data, delivering clear insights to trading and operations teams.
- Integrate diverse data sources into a unified framework to support decision-making across the organization.
What You Bring:
- A degree in a quantitative discipline such as Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or similar.
- 3–5 years of experience working in data science, quantitative analysis, or risk modeling roles.
- Experience building models from scratch
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience building production-level analytics workflows.
- A strong foundation in statistics, probability, and quantitative modeling techniques.
- Experience with Time Series would be preferrable.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments where priorities evolve quickly.
Bonus Points For:
- Familiarity with market risk frameworks and exposure analysis.
- Prior work in the energy, utilities, or power trading sector.
- Understanding of the dynamics of distributed infrastructure or retail electricity supply.
