About the Opportunity
Our client, a nationally recognized design-build contractor with a strong reputation in industrial, warehouse, and distribution center construction, is seeking a Senior Site Superintendent to join their growing team. This is a high-impact, leadership-focused role supporting field operations across a select portfolio of large-scale projects. While currently there is no need for a General Superintendent, this position is seen as a growth path into that role.
This is not a traditional, boots-on-the-ground superintendent role—instead, you’ll serve as a mentor, resource, and oversight leader to a team of site superintendents while ensuring company standards for safety, quality, and execution are consistently upheld across all active projects.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
- Serve as a mentor to site superintendents, providing ongoing coaching, technical support, and guidance.
- Support the development and enforcement of best practices in safety, QA/QC, and scheduling.
- Maintain visibility across active projects and provide strategic input on field operations.
Safety & Quality Focus
- Act as the Chief Safety Officer for projects, ensuring all site activity aligns with OSHA and internal safety regulations.
- Oversee quality assurance measures, including inspections, testing, and subcontractor compliance.
- Drive a culture of accountability and safety across all job sites.
Project Lifecycle Involvement
- Support development of site-specific logistics plans and safety protocols during preconstruction.
- Assist with subcontractor onboarding, scope alignment, and trade coordination.
- Monitor progress, assist with issue resolution, and enforce project controls.
- Participate in closeout procedures including punch list execution and final turnover.
Organizational Support
- Serve in an overhead/management capacity—not tied to a single project but rather assisting across multiple projects (a few at a time, not spread thin).
- Collaborate with Project Managers and VPs to ensure alignment of field and office strategies.
- Represent the client’s interests and ensure consistent execution of company goals.
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in construction supervision, with strong emphasis on industrial, warehouse, big box, or distribution center projects.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and oversee multiple superintendents and projects simultaneously.
- Deep knowledge of OSHA standards, safety protocols, and QA/QC practices.
- Strong working knowledge of Procore or other construction management platforms.
- Ability to travel regionally as needed for project oversight.
- OSHA 30 and CPR/AED certifications required; PMP certification is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field experience preferred.
Why This Role?
- Clear career path toward a future General Superintendent role.
- High-level influence across multiple high-profile projects.
- Join a company that is deeply invested in safety, quality, and team development.
- Be part of a lean but powerful leadership structure, offering autonomy and visibility.
