Wastewater Engineer – Leading General Contractor
Location : Columbus, OH
Salary : $90,000 - $140,000 (commensurate with experience)
About the Opportunity :
Our client, a leading general contractor with a strong presence in Columbus, OH , is seeking an experienced Wastewater Engineer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and impactful water and wastewater infrastructure projects , contributing to the design, planning, and execution of treatment facilities, pipelines, and related systems.
The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in wastewater engineering, a degree in Civil Engineering , and a solid understanding of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment processes. While a Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus, it is not required for this position.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in the design, planning, and construction of wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
- Conduct engineering calculations, hydraulic modeling, and technical analysis to support project execution.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and municipal agencies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Review plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Provide technical expertise during project bidding, estimating, and preconstruction phases.
- Oversee field investigations , site assessments, and construction activities related to wastewater infrastructure.
- Participate in value engineering efforts to improve cost efficiency and performance of treatment facilities.
- Stay current on industry regulations, emerging technologies, and best practices in wastewater treatment and infrastructure development.
