The Executive Director of Data and Analytics will be responsible for overseeing the company’s data strategy, driving analytics initiatives, and leading the team responsible for data governance, data engineering, and data science. This individual will play a key role in shaping the company’s data-driven culture, empowering teams to make data-backed decisions and improve operational efficiencies across the organization.
Job Description:
As the Executive Director of Data and Analytics, you will provide leadership to a growing team of data professionals while collaborating with senior leadership to implement a strategic vision for data and analytics. You will guide the development of advanced data architectures, analytical models, and reporting systems that will inform business decisions, shape strategic initiatives, and improve the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data and analytics strategy that aligns with the company’s overall goals and objectives
- Lead the data and analytics team in managing the full data lifecycle, including data collection, integration, quality assurance, and visualization
- Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data architectures, data pipelines, and reporting frameworks
- Work closely with business leaders to understand their needs and ensure the effective use of data to drive operational and strategic decisions
- Lead the development of advanced analytics models, data-driven insights, and predictive analytics to inform business strategies
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization, promoting data literacy at all levels
- Champion data governance and compliance practices, ensuring data privacy, integrity, and security standards are met
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of data systems and platforms
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to enhance data capabilities and tools
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for the data and analytics team
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company stays ahead of the curve in the evolving data landscape
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
- 10 years of experience in data management, data science, or analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong expertise in data architecture, data engineering, and advanced analytics (e.g., machine learning, artificial intelligence)
- Proven track record of leading and scaling data teams in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Deep understanding of data governance, data privacy, and compliance regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and analytical programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver actionable insights from complex datasets
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry
- Experience with data automation, AI-powered analytics, and predictive modeling
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data integration tools
