Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret and enforce district policies and administrative regulations.
- Participate in the selection and supervision of all school personnel.
- Lead in the development, determination of appropriateness, and monitoring of building-level programs.
- Organize and administer the public relations program for assigned schools.
- Supervise the daily use of school facilities for both academic and non-academic purposes.
- Provide for adequate inventories of property under assigned jurisdiction and for the security and accountability for that property.
- Approve the master teaching schedule and any special assignments.
- Prepare and administer the school budget and supervise school finances.
- Supervise the maintenance of all required records and reports, including State Attendance Registers.
- Maintain active relationships and ensures proper communication with students, staff, and parents.
- Serve as the instructional leader in the building, monitoring Academic Performance Index, Reading Sufficiency, Reading Proficiency, Average Yearly Progress, WIDA, and all student accountability to meet local, state, and national standards.
- Assume responsibility for all official school correspondence and news releases.
- Serve as a member of such committees and attend such meetings as the superintendent shall direct.
- Serve as an ex officio member of all committees and councils within the school.
- Respond to written and oral requests for information.
- Keep immediate supervisory informed of events and activities of an unusual nature, as well as routine matters related to the supervisor's accountability.
- Assume responsibility for his/her own professional growth and development through membership and participation in the affairs of professional organizations, through attendance at regional, state, and national meetings, through enrollment in advanced courses, and the like.
- Maintain and update a School Safety Plan and a Health and Nutrition Plan on an annual basis.
- Perform other duties and organize special projects as assigned by supervision.
