Enlace Chicago is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of the residents of the Little Village Community by fostering a physically safe and healthy environment in which to live and by championing opportunities for educational advancement and economic development.
Job Summary:
Enlace partners with neighborhood Chicago Public Schools in Little Village to transform them into fun, safe, and innovative community-driven learning environments for youth and adults. A Community School extends its walls into the community by coordinating classes, resources, events and opportunities for leadership development, academic support/enrichment, recreation, and health/nutrition and community engagement.
The Parent Coordinator (PC) will serve as the point person of the Parent Mentor Program, and will work to connect parents to community school activities and resources. The PC will create and nurture a welcoming and inclusive environment. Additionally, the PC will coordinate all adult programming, and will work to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, will engage community members and partners in meaningful initiatives related to the personal and professional development of their adult participants.

Accountable to: Director of Education, Associate Director of Education, Education Team
Communicates with: CPS Administrators, Community School and PMP Teams and Enlace Edu Team
Informs: Enlace Chicago Staff, Little Village Education Collaborative Partners

Accountable to: Program Assistant, Director of Education, Enlace and School-Based Staff
Status: 25 Hours/Week, Part-Time Seasonal
Duties, Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Help develop a family friendly environment at assigned school
- Work with the community school team on recruitment of adult participants and volunteers
- Stay informed on community schools programs and events & disseminate information to parents
- Assist with coordination and planning of adult activities, workshops, events, and programs
- Identify and recruit potential parent leaders
- Assist RC in supervision and schedule creation of Parent-Student Advocates
- Maintain continuous communication with adult program instructors and participants
- Attend SCS professional development trainings
- Help track and monitor adult activities, programs, and workshops
- Work with the RC to plan and organize field trips and family engagement events
- Support students and parents and connect them to school, community, and Enlace resources
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Other duties as requested
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred
- Ability to work in CPS schools (pass background check)
