What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Technician - PRN Night Shift position at Enlightened Recovery?
The Recovery Tech acts as a liaison between the patient and treatment staff. The Recovery Tech assists in providing a safe environment for patients by observing and reporting all patient activity, engages patients in activities and programming, maintains a visible presence on the patients at the detox center. The Recovery Tech is responsible for supervising patients with the emphasis on patient safety and well-being.
- Implements a daily structure for all patients.
- Observes and reports rounds in a timely manner in EMR.
- Maintains a visible presence on clients.
- Instructs and confirms the company’s rules and regulations to new admissions.
- Responsible for intake process when intake counselor is not present by assisting in having the patient sign the appropriate documents to be admitted into detox.
- Responsible for taking Urine Drug Screenings of patients.
- Orients new clients to the facility as part of intake process.
- Searches all incoming patients by assisting the nurse in a safety body search and search belongings, including luggage and personal items. All items must be inventoried in EMR.
- Follows Policy and Procedure in disposing of drugs/ paraphernalia found during safety search, belongings search, and or room search. All drugs/ paraphernalia must be recorded in the destruction log with another staff present as a witness of the destruction.
- Participates in daily shift report.
- Participates in maintaining clean, properly supplied, and efficient/safe work areas.
- Attends monthly Recovery Tech meetings to report any issues that may be occurring.
- Able to lift weighted items including luggage.
- Participates in discharging of patients and ensures all their belonging are taken out of the safe and closet to be given back to the patient at discharge.
- Able to respond rapidly to medical and behavioral emergencies.
- Maintains understanding of Patient’s Rights, upholds patient’s rights, and assists patients with filing complaints, as needed
