POSITION SUMMARY :
The Contract Specialist facilitates the contract administration process for their assigned customers / department(s), including research and analysis, inputting, managing and overseeing contracts within the contract management software system (Meditract). Support their leadership team, and is responsible for providing initial review of documents for general terms, uploading, routing, requesting changes with vendors, and preparing agreements for final signature; including distribution to vendor of the final contract with all pertinent supporting documentation (BAA, W9, PO's, SOW, etc.). Provides excellent communication to customers / dept(s) / managers regarding status of contracts undergoing review, revisions or needing renewal. Maintains and updates the contract database, and will generate and analyze various monthly reports, including comparing prior year cost changes and updating the budget. Other duties include regular communication with vendors, department leadership and staff regarding various contract issues; follow-up on outstanding signatures; drafting contract amendments, term extensions and letters, and attending monthly contracts meetings, as assigned.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE :
Minimum :
- Three years working in an office environment performing general clerical duties including experience utilizing computers and Microsoft Office programs
- Familiar with language, concepts, practices, and procedures involved in vendor contracts

Must have excellent communication skills to establish and maintain a high degree of rapport and interact professionally with managers, co-workers, employees, consultants, attorneys, patients and the public at large. Excellent analytical, grammatical, punctuation, spelling, and formatting skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Capable of following through on numerous details of multiple assignments simultaneously, using good judgment and critical thinking skills and problem-solving capabilities. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times. Must be able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment, independently make decisions and prioritize duties. Organizational skills essential. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position. Must comply with HIPAA Regulations and company confidentiality policies and procedures.
