GENERAL SUMMARY
Nouria Energy is seeking an experienced and results-driven HR business partner to align our HR initiatives and functions with business objectives and business needs.
Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for providing comprehensive Human Resources support to Nouria’s retail locations (c-store, QSR, fuel) in the areas of performance management, talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding, policy interpretation and training; addressing employee relations concerns and supporting recruiting efforts for open positions within assigned geographical territory. This role supports approximately 50 retail stores in managing all aspects of HR and requires engagement, diplomacy, and willingness to interact across all levels within the field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Build a strong business partner relationship with Operations teams, to develop a comprehensive understanding of their business, their goals, and challenges.
- Will lead workforce planning activities and succession planning for their respective area.
- Provide day-to-day performance management, support and guidance to field organization.
- Ensures compliance with all Federal and State employment laws, regulations, and Nouria Energy policies, procedures, and processes.
- Identifies employee relations issues and resolves as appropriate. Provides guidance and advice to store management and district management for resolution.
- Assesses issues and provides a thorough and accurate investigative report with appropriate recommendation(s). Coaches and consults with Corporate and/or Operations partners on issue resolution, provides guidance on handling of minor/ routine issues, calibrates the need for escalation of more serious matters and when necessary, partners with Associate Relations to coordinate investigation.
- Coordinate’s recruitment needs assessments and partners with the Talent Acquisition team. This includes, but is not limited to, workforce planning, interviewing, job fairs and participating in outreach events.
- Analyze trends & use data to develop people programs and influence change.
- Support the on-boarding of new employees.
- Provides HR guidance and interpretation.
- Facilitates training, hands-on, and on-line (RTO) learning sessions and explains complex topics in a way that are understandable and easily applied.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of previous experience in Human Resources, with exposure across all HR functionalities, preferably in the field, retail, or multi-unit environment.
- BA / BS or comparable HRCI / SHRM Certification preferred.
- Retail industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on training experience, time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and work independently in responding to day-to-day functional need.
- Experience in dealing with complex employee relations issues (EEO, FLSA, OSHA, etc.), anticipate and identify problems, use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
- Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information, communicate with all levels of organization, and provide training.
Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly be walking, standing, stooping, kneeling.
Travel: 75% of time will be traveling local locations during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Employee is expected to provide his/her own transportation and is eligible to participate in the IRS approved FAVR reimbursement program.
Availability: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
