About the Position
We are seeking a Production Worker who will be responsible for fabricating and assembling; including, curtainwall and storefronts. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of fabrication techniques and materials. The Production Worker works primarily in a manufacturing setting but may also perform installations at job sites.
Responsibilities and Tasks
· Fabrication and Assembly: Measure, cut, and shape glass to specific sizes using hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery, assemble glass products by fitting panes into frames and structures, and apply sealants and gaskets for a secure, weatherproof fit.
- Blueprints and Fabrication Drawings: Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings to determine job requirements and specifications, and accurately calculate dimensions and angles for precise cuts and installations.
- Tools and Equipment: Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for cutting, shaping, and installing glass, ensuring they are in safe working condition and reporting any malfunctions or needed repairs.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for defects to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications, performing adjustments and repairs as needed to maintain product quality and functionality.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries, use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and respirators, and ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Production Efficiency: Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines, coordinating with team members and supervisors.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on production equipment and tools, ensuring they remain in good working condition.
Location & commitments
· Full-time: Seeking full-time employees willing to work 40 hours Monday through Friday. Workers are expected to adhere these hours unless otherwise specified by employer.
· Hours: Involves regular day-time hours, start times may vary based on jobsite location/travel.
· Overtime: During reliability to employers.
· Communication: If unforeseen circumstances or delays occur that may impact attendance, it is important for employees to communicate properly and notify employer.
Candidate requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a glazier or in a similar production role is advantageous.
- Glazing Knowledge: Strong understanding of different types of glass, glazing techniques, and installation methods.
· Proficient Math Skills: Workers need to make accurate measurements and calculations when cutting and installing glass. Proficient math skills are important for precision in the work.
· Interpreting Shop Drawings: Individual must show the ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
· Proficient Manual Dexterity: Must have the ability to use hand and power tools effectively is crucial for tasks such as cutting aluminum and installing glass and storefront.
· Driver's License: A valid Driver’s license is required for traveling to various jobsites and locations.
