PAP Specialist – Job Overview
The PAP Specialist plays a key role in ensuring patients receive the Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) equipment and support they need. This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of insurance guidelines.
As a PAP Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Scheduling patient appointments for PAP equipment pickup and education.
- Explaining financial responsibilities and payment options to patients.
- Ensuring compliance with Medicare and insurance regulations, including documentation and audit preparation.
- Providing ongoing support to encourage patient compliance with PAP therapy.
- Collaborating with physicians, referral sources, and internal teams to coordinate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of home medical equipment (HME), insurance coverage, and compliance requirements.
- Assist patients with PAP equipment setup and education, ensuring they understand usage and care.
- Accurately enter and maintain patient data, including insurance coverage details and authorization requirements.
- Work closely with physician offices, referral sources, and sales teams to ensure proper documentation and timely service.
- Identify trends in documentation compliance and provide feedback for process improvements.
- Ensure all patient information is handled confidentially, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in team training, meetings, and ongoing education to stay informed of industry changes.
- Maintain compliance with Enos Home Medical policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary : $35 - $40
