Petroleum Company Hiring a Accountant

Role Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations. Your key duties will include preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable reconciling bank statements, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. You will work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and contribute to the financial planning processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
• Reconcile bank accountants and other financial records.
• Assist in the preparation and management of budgets and forecasts.
• Perform financial analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvements.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision making
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
• Maintain and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.

Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field.

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in accounting preferably within the petroleum or energy industry.

Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis.

Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

CPA certification is a plus.
