What You'll Do

  • Strategic Planning: Maintain and manage min/max planning, set appropriate parameters, and actively maintain lead-times in coordination with the commercial team.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics functions to understand material availability and the most efficient way of bringing them on site.
  • Continuous Improvement: Use data from ERP reports, PowerBI, and KPIs to lead and participate in Continuous Improvement events, implementing Kanban, visual management systems, and 5S.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to identify sourcing, pricing, and lead-time challenges, and implement strategies to achieve both long-term and short-term goals.
  • Production Planning: Set production plans using ERP systems, analyze lead time and delivery performance, and optimize equipment OEE.
  • Inventory Management: Analyze performance against KPIs, lead annual physical inventory audits, and implement corrective actions based on data.
  • ERP and Data Management: Take ownership of information and data that drive lead times, identify trends through data analysis, and resolve root causes.


What We're Looking For

  • Education: Associate's degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1-7 years of manufacturing experience preferred; APICS Certification (CPIM) is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong collaboration skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and proficiency in using spreadsheets and ERP software.

Full Job Description

GENERAL NATURE OF JOB:

Provides strategic support for the operations team by making decisions based on data and having the ability to understand our manufacturing systems and ERP systems to implement changes to reach our business objectives. Responsible for procurement of materials through production steps to shipment of finished goods by actively planning for raw materials/semi-finished/finished goods, controlling inventory, and coordination with Logistics and Purchasing. Works with operations team to achieve supply chain and operational objectives by removing obstacles and implementing corrective actions that improve the process. Has high functioning knowledge of majority of Product Lines on campus and is capable of working across departments.

Essential Functions

  • Planning – Maintains and manages min/max planning to set appropriate parameters and actively maintains lead-times in coordination with the commercial team. Partners with Supply Chain and Logistics functions to understand availability of materials and most efficient way of bringing them on site. Uses data from ERP reports, PowerBI, and KPI’s to develop, lead, and participate in Continuous Improvement events to implement Kanban, visual management systems, and 5S. Optimizes asset utilization and production efficiencies by level loading and setting appropriate stocking levels. Works with cross functional teams to identify sourcing, pricing, and lead-time challenges on components and prioritizes what to work on. Works with production team and others to implement strategies that achieve both long term and short-term goals. Creates collaborative and inclusive environment with the core values of Safety, Excellence, and Respect as a foundation. Is able and willing to train Planner I colleagues.


Sets production plan using ERP system to review demand for both planned to stock and build to order products. Runs min/max planning to create purchase and production orders. Analyzes lead time and delivery performance. Works with Customer Service to understand customer priorities and needs providing feedback when out of compliance. Partners with supervision and direct labor to leverage efficiency within production cells by optimizing equipment OEE. Works with production team to achieve operational goals and is familiar with operational KPI’s and can use reporting tools such as PowerBI. Responsible for ensuring production jobs are at the correct work centers and the correct time.

Key metrics include On Time Delivery, Labor Efficiency, Lead Time, Average Days Late

  • Inventory Management – Analyzes performance against KPI’s in inventory turns and cost. Leads annual physical inventory audit. Implements corrective actions based on data from physical inventory audit and cycle count results, excess and obsolete reports, on-hand inventory value and TTM DSI reports, and working capital models for proper stocking levels. Works with production team to develop solutions and implement them in challenging circumstances. Analyzes lead time, delivery performance, and material and purchase price variances to identify waste and uses them to drive continuous improvement opportunities. Is able and willing to train Planner I colleagues in these concepts.


Key metrics include On-hand Inventory Value, Physical Inventory Variances, Cycle Counts, Excess and Obsolete

  • ERP and Data Management – Advanced ERP system knowledge and functionality to understand how to affect change. Takes ownership of information and data that drives lead times to both customers on finished goods and vendors for goods and services. Willingness to learn different types of transactions, and the impacts of them within the system and the financial statement, and teach operators on when and how to use them. Identifies trends through data analysis using reporting tools and works with cross-functional colleagues to understand and resolve root causes. Ongoing focus on actively ensuring integrity of inventory data and job status and solves recurring issues. Works with Industrial Engineering group to organize equipment, labor, and materials data that will improve shop floor visibility and flow.


Uses ERP system for an array of tasks and understands how data is input and how to generate reports and documents. Understands and leads team on proper operational transactions, knowledgeable of their impacts within the ERP system and the financial statement and teaches operators on when and how to use them. Ongoing focus on actively ensuring integrity of inventory data and job status with an eye to eliminating recurring issues. Typical transactions include, but not limited to: executing paperwork for open sales orders, eliminating negative inventory, accurate sub-inventory moves, production order moves, cycle count entries, WIP clean-up, scrap reporting, etc.

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • General understanding of income statement.
  • Strong skills using spreadsheets such as MS Excel and using formulas and pivot tables for data analysis.
  • Demonstrated skills using ERP software.

Enpro carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors including the background, education, training, and experience required, as well as geographic considerations such as cost of labor, and applicable local and state laws. These considerations can cause offered compensation to vary. The hiring range for this position is typically $60,500 - $99,000 annually. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. Bonus, gainshare, and/or equity may be eligible for this position. Enpro offers a range of benefits including, but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) matching, and other supplemental insurance options.
