Job Summary & Job Duties

Job Summary:

This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and supports the operations team. The Production Planner II develops, reviews, and maintains production plans. They also provide job prioritization and planning; release shop orders to production (WIP); identify constraints and deliver data to the production supervisor on workforce planning when needed. They will work closely with sales and operations for delivery dates, expedites, stocking levels, and recovery dates for their given product lines.

Essential Functions

  • Uses the system / tools to generate, publish, and maintain the Planned Production Schedule.   
  • Works closely with Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to execute the Operating Plan. 
  • Responsible for communicating delivery and recovery dates to customer service.
  • Collaborates with operations team to identify workforce and capacity constraints.
  • Identifies risks associated with the production plan, including considerations for expedites, drop-ins, sales history, and inventory levels.
  • Implements and communicates changes to production schedules as dictated by business and customer demands.
  • Releases work orders to production and is responsible for clear communication of department and machine level production schedules within the work centers. 
  • Define and update the inventory parameters and safety stock.
  • Analyzes master data as it pertains to manufacturing to ensure schedule attainment. Consult with gatekeepers of data to make necessary adjustments and corrections.
  • Manages physical inventory and reconciles actual stock count to computer-generated reports and performs basic job variance analysis.
  • Creates manufacturing routers and performs analysis on finished jobs to verify accuracy of standards and transactions.
  • Participates in daily/weekly meetings that support production and planning.
  • End of month reporting on key metrics such as OTD, Consignment, and Excess and Obsolete.
  • Actively participates in committee-based safety teams.  
  • Other tasks and functions as assigned 


Minimum Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.  
  • 1 years of experiencing in a manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to production planning, scheduling or MRP systems
  • Experience with Macola ERP preferred.  
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, including skills in formatting, creating pivot tables, and performing data analysis.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.  
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.  
  • Committed, dedicated and self-motivated, takes full ownership of projects or assigned tasks.  
  • The desire to strive for continuous improvement and excellence within a fast-paced growth environment.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
