Job Description
The EHS Engineer will be responsible for the support and improvement of the company’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, corporate safety policies, and industry standards. This position will be responsible for supporting the Lansing, MI & LaPorte, IN facilities.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
- Manage all aspects of EHS to ensure the company is providing the safest work environment for all team members.
- Support facility safety teams in promoting continuous improvement.
- Engage and collaborate with facility safety teams to develop safety improvement plans and support these teams to produce design safety results and meet established targets.
- Conduct safety audits at Enprotech facilities to ensure safety compliance, as well as determining and implementing any necessary corrective actions.
- Promote the organization’s safety objectives.
- Reinforce Health and Safety Manual policies and Life Saving Principles.
- Lead and develop team member training programs.
- Develop Job Hazardous Analysis and Job Safety Analysis.
- Review and participate in incident investigations, using team-based root cause problem solving, counter measures, and effectiveness verification.
- Support all aspects of the ISO Environmental Management System at each facility.
- Responsible for regulatory reporting responsibilities as they relate to Environmental, Health, and Safety.
- Keep current on all government safety and health laws, standards, regulations, and industrial hygiene including oversite of appropriate training.
Qualifications
This position requires a self-motivated EHS professional, that achieves results by gaining support in EHS programs and processes. The EHS Engineer will guide/coach our manufacturing team members and provide the necessary leadership to management functions. Applicants should have 5-10 years of EHS experience in a heavy manufacturing environment. Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
