Job Description
As a Fabricator III one of the main responsibilities will be to set up fabrication components, lay out and grind parts as necessary to develop shape. Layout and assemble flat and formed plate components using drawings supplied from engineering. Will use various raw materials and tools to Fabricate high-quality parts according to specifications. Fabricator I will be expected to cut, grind, weld and form parts as need to complete required assemblies.

- Proficient-Must possess qualifications, skills and experience of former classification.
- Proficient-Fully proficient in blueprint reading except for geometric tolerancing.
- Competent-Able to design and build tooling needed to support work.
- Competent-Able to assemble complex runners.
- Competent-Able to assemble complex distributor assemblies.
- Competent-Able to assemble complex shaft to runner installations.
- Competent-Able to assemble complex Kaplan turbines.
- Competent-Able to assemble complex pumps.
- Competent-Able to perform vent checks of runners and pumps.
- Competent-Able to train and direct others in performing the same.
- Competent-Able to generate and implement Lean continuous improvement ideas.
- Competent-Able to operate all cranes and make all lifts regardless of size and complexity.
Accountabilities
- Layout and assemble of flat and formed plate components using drawings supplied from engineering
- Assembly could consist of plasma or thermal cutting operations in addition to grinding to make pieces fit and to generate weld preps
- Tack welding will be required to join parts as part of the assembly

Essential Functions Performed by the Position
- Read and record measurements using conventional micrometers, calipers, and related instruments
- Assemble finished machined parts to prove fit and for the purpose of further machining
- Tack welding will be required to join parts as part of the assembly
- Accurately interpret instructions, prints and work orders for the job
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
- Keep supervisor informed of problems regarding work piece, schedule, safety, etc. as conditions arise
- Paint equipment and job parts

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Completion of accredited program; Six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
