Job Description
The Manager, Operations Scheduling, Planning and Estimating will be responsible for managing the production scheduling, planning and estimating for the organization. Ensures operations are properly estimated, planned and scheduled so they can be executed accordingly to meet project delivery requirements while maintaining a consistent and proper flow through the manufacturing processes. Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), such as schedule accuracy and adherence, on-time delivery (OTD), estimating, planning, execution accuracy and performance. Provide Operations team data to drive operational communication across the organization on production requirements/ inputs needed to support meeting KPI’s. Provide required information/outputs to the organization to support business KPI’s.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
- Maintain resource loaded integrated Operations schedules and oversee a department of Operational planning, scheduling and estimating professionals.
- Maintaining detailed 12 month plus operational schedules for numerous projects by aligning production schedules with customer deadlines and operational capacity.
- Provide detailed and accurate estimates of operational scope for proposals.
- Provide operations/production planning utilizing AHC best practices, lessons learned, while utilizing improvement opportunities through collaboration with industrial and manufacturing engineering to drive financial performance.
- Collaborate with PM’s, Management, Project Controls, Procurement and production staff to understand priorities and develop solutions to maintain project schedule and achieve OTD.
- Analyze schedule performance, identify potential delays, and recommend corrective action.
- Develop and maintain the logic, activities, constraints, and milestones to provided fully integrated Operational schedules.
- Manage performance reports and import/export project data to systems, including reporting schedule performance to project controls as an input to the master schedule.
- Lean Manufacturing Implementation: Proficiency in Lean principles and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, optimize material flow, and enhance factory productivity.
- Provides data to Operations management pertaining to load leveling, capacity, resource requirements and forecasting.
- Ensures alignment of all inputs and outputs of Operations/production are aligned.
- Assist to maximize resource utilization.
- Coordinates shared resource activities over multiple projects.
- Identifying risks/issues/conflicts and helping provide potential solutions to prevent issues from occurring and provide data and input needed to develop recovery plans when required.
- Improve on time delivery through increased visibility of demand driven flow.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have strong technical, leadership and analytical skills to effectively manage and develop the estimating, planning and scheduling team members as individuals and as a team.

- Proficiency with Oracle P6 software in a project-based manufacturing business environment

- Strong understanding of Epicor ERP system.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10 or more years’ experience production planning, scheduling, or similar role within project based heavy manufacturing environment with at least 5 years’ experience leading and managing teams.
- Proficiency in Epicor ERP systems for estimating, planning and scheduling.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Proficiency with BI capabilities and fact-based analytics
- Knowledge of critical path method of scheduling
- Understanding of industrial structural fabrication processes and planning principles.
- Understanding of industrial Large CNC machining processes and planning principles
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
- APICS -CPIM certification a plus
Licenses or Certifications Required
- APICS-CPIM Certification a plus
