Job Title: Residential Supervisor

Responsibilities: The Residential Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and oversight of individuals served, staff, and residences as assigned

The Residential Supervisor’s Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Supervision

· Ensure that each residence is staffed for all shifts controlling overtime when possible. Keep records of all overtime (reason, staff, shift date & time). Reports all overtime to Manager of Residential Services.

· Provide monitoring and mentoring to new staff during their probationary period. Monitoring and Mentoring on a daily basis during first 10 days of probationary period – weekly thereafter

· Monitor individuals served with staff interactions for appropriateness and development. Provide input to Residential Coordinators and Residential Manager regarding issues or concerns relating to individuals served and/or staff.

· Coordinate and facilitate all approved scheduled activities for individuals served, including, but not limited, to: Grocery shopping, clothing, social/educational outings, activities for transition into the community.

Facilitiy Maintenance – refers to the appearance of the residence; cleanliness, maintaining inventory, furnishings, upkeep of individual’s rooms, etc:

· Inspect homes daily for damages, broken blinds, furniture, missing items, i.e.: light bulbs, towels, food, etc.

· Inspect for needed repairs and follow through until completion of the repair.

· Ensure food is properly stored (discarding if expired), purchased, ordered, and prepared.

· Ensure house is odor and vermin free.

· Inspect the Fire Extinguisher monthly, sign off on the tag and ensure the pin is in place.

· Inspect and ensure the smoke detectors are working on a monthly basis.

· Ensure EACH RESIDENCE IS ALWAYS IN INSPECTION READY STATUS.

Medication Administration – refers to monitoring, documenting, and tracking prescription and over the counter medications for the individuals served.

· Supervision Staff will monitor medication administration for:

· Appropriate procedures being followed

· Appropriate documentation

· Security of medications

· Inspect MAR sheets bi-weekly for appropriate documenting of medications given

· Report medication administration errors to the Health Services Nurse and complete the GER as appropriate

· Provide monitoring of staff making errors and report to Residential Manager

· Ensure proper procedures are followed regarding the receipt of medications for residents, reviewing and making requests for necessary corrections

· Ensure all medications are secured at all times by the staff

· Ensure medications are started on the correct day by the staff

· Ensure the previous month’s empties are turned into Health Services

· Ensure PRN and over the counter medications are administered according to procedure and start and stop dates

· Strive for zero medication errors at residences under your supervision

· Coordinate and facilitate after hour medical appointments and ER visits

Paperwork / Meetings

· Ensure all individuals’ paperwork is completed before the end of each shift by staff

· Check all paperwork for accuracy and completion

· Ensure scheduled items are documented in a timely manner: MAR’S, Training, Service Objectives, Vital Signs, Blood Sugars, Toileting, Etc.

· Ensure paperwork is NOT documented before the activity occurs (ie: completing MAR before medication given on date of occurrence)

· Ensure Incident Reports are made and paperwork completed before the end of the shift by the appropriate staff

· Ensure paperwork is an actual account of what has occurred

· Provide monitoring and mentoring for staff that show difficulty completing paperwork completely. Inform the Manager of Residential Services and Human Resources if a write up is needed to implement corrective actions.

· Prepare report for, and attend all ISP, Core Team, and other meetings as required

· Maintain Medical Administration Record (MAR’s), service and training objective reports, Behavioral Charts, Electronic Data Sheets, Fire/Severe weather drills, first aid and universal precaution kits, securing and management of medications, food intake sheets, vital signs documentation as required, and incident reports in the required time frames. Ensure these actions are completed by staff through monitoring. All paperwork is to be up to date at all times.

· Residences, staff, and individuals served are to be ready for an inspection at any time – regional monitors, advocacy, life safety, and annual state certification. This also includes internal inspections by assigned staff. It is your responsibility to investigate, and provide written response and corrective action plan for staff along with how it will be prevented in the future, to the Manager of Residential Services within required timeframes.

Budgets - Each resident will have a budgeted amount to spend each month for food, supplies and activities. Each individual served will have a budgeted amount for spending (debit card). This involves:

· Ensure that both the client spending (debit card) and residential spending is maintained within the limits of the budget.

· Ensure that all receipts for spending by assigned staff are maintained and turned in for monthly reconciliation by the accounting department. Food stamp receipts are turned into the administrative assistant for the Vice President of Program Services

· Strive to stay within monthly budgets

· Strive to keep overall resident costs low by ensuring staff are implementing cost-cutting measures: i.e.: turning off lights when not in use, keep doors closed when air or heat are in use, maintain appropriate temperatures in each residence, wash clothing according to schedules, take out garbage daily-especially food to prevent bugs, etc.

Additional Duties

· Thorough knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures developed by Enrestoration, Inc. and strict adherence to all.

· Participate in all required training and pass needed certification which includes but is not limited to CPR, First Aid, CPI and MAC – includes all retraining and annual recertification.

· Complete residential outcome training as required by QIDP or QDDP or Director of Development and Instructional Affairs

· Attend all scheduled agency and staff meetings as well as any in-service trainings

Requirements:

Must have at minimum a HS Diploma

Must be 21-years or older

Must have at least two years’ supervisory experience in a group home setting with individuals with intellectual disabilities

Must have completed supervisory training

Valid Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to agency insurer

Clean criminal record with ability to pass two background checks

Good physical health

Capable of lifting at least 50 pounds and walking for an extended period of time

Must be certified and able to pass agency required trainings in CPR, First Aid, CPI, MAC, etc.

Must exhibit leadership abilities: possess skills to work independently and as a team.
