What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Specialist position at Enriched Learning Center?
The primary responsibility of the behavioral specialist is the creation of a safe environment that allows students to learn and grow. Behavior Specialists are the primary liaison between Enriched Learning Center and the families, and case management teams of our students.
Responsibilites:
-Participate as a team member in the identification of social/behavioral problems.
-Design, implement, and monitor progress of behavioral management programs for students to remediate behavioral and social problems.
-Provide individual and group counseling to the students on a regular basis to include socialization activities.
-Implementation of Behavior Management techniques as described in ELC manual.
-Complete all required paperwork/documentation for intakes, incident reporting and behavior tracking.
-Develop and implement Behavioral Programs. This will include the organization of and tracking of behavioral goals, charting, and development of positive behavioral interventions.
-Plan and confer with the classroom teacher concerning behavioral, social, or personal problems affecting the students.
-Assist the teacher in setting and evaluating daily Behavior Goal Setting system
-Assist in creating and maintaining a classroom environment conducive to learning and team-building.
-Provide support and supervision whenever necessary
Bachelor Degree preferred.
Position is full time September - mid June, with standard school vacations paid for. You will be responsible for up to 10 days of work over the summer.
