EnSafe is accepting applications for a Construction Safety Consultant to work at a client site in Columbus, OH. (For 1-2 years). After our client’s construction projects, the successful candidate will transition into a full-time safety consultant (based in Columbus) helping clients with risk assessment services such as lockout/tagout program development, machine guarding assessments, confined space hazard assessments, program development, and similar projects.
This role would be excellent for a seasoned leader with 10 years of experience, including experience with construction safety.

What We Are Looking For:
A Construction Safety Consultant experienced in leading and fostering a safety-conscious culture in the workplace to minimize accidents and injuries. This Construction Safety Consultant will help oversee various types of construction projects, assist with the prevention of injuries and other safety-related incidents, and help implement company-established safety/health rules. The Construction Safety Consultant is expected to work closely with site project managers and help manage day-to-day construction-related activities, including pre-construction planning, design review, construction/equipment installation, and project closeout.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Working closely with site leadership to assist in managing overall safety programs for a fully integrated nutritional plant with 300-400 employees.
- Assisting with the implementation of plant safety programs/procedures during construction projects
- Conducting construction site safety audits
- Assisting contractors with daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Working closely with the client’s project managers to foster safe work practices
- Advancing task-specific job safety analyses for work performed at the facility
- Assisting with safety training sessions
- Completing daily reports for client
What You’ll Need:
- B.S. degree in Safety related field, or 10 years of related experience preferred.
- Some experience with construction safety
- Working knowledge of the client’s project managers to foster safe work practices and address at-risk behaviors
- Professional designations (CSP, CIH, CHMM) are a plus.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills as well as the ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
- Strong initiative and the ability to work autonomously.
- Team building skills.
- Microsoft Office skills required.
- A history of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred but not required.
- Key technical abilities in; machine guarding, trenching and excavating, lockout/tagout, line breaking, confined space entry, overhead cranes, electrical safety, and chemical safety
