Summary: The Landscaper performs landscape maintenance and construction tasks in the field to include planting, pruning of landscape plants and trees and mowing lawns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, landscape work is highly labor intensive. It requires using hand-held earthmoving equipment such as shovels, hoes, post hole diggers, rakes and many other hand-held tools. The landscape crew works with mulch, dirt, sod, plants, shrubs, water, sand, rocks and many other natural types of materials. This work is always outside where the team is exposed to the elements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform landscape maintenance
- Perform construction tasks in the field
- Planting and pruning of plants and trees, mows lawns
- Ensuring the grounds are well kept and visually pleasing
- Perform basic irrigation repairs
- Use safety precautions while performing all aspects of the role; must act on a daily basis as a proactive safety advocate
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
- Follow health and safety guidelines
- Be punctual and able to observe regular and consistent attendance
- Contribute to a positive team environment
- Performs other tasks or duties as needed or assigned
- 1-3 years’ work experience required, preferably in a groundskeeping role.
- This position requires the use of a company vehicle. Must possess a valid (Class C) California driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to operate hand tools, landscape equipment and machinery in a safe and responsible manner
- Must be able to work at a flexible and rotating schedule including all shifts, weekends, special events and holidays. Weekends and holidays are mandatory.
- Must be energetic, organized, and responsive
- Bilingual English – Spanish preferred, ability to read, follow instructions, and communicate in English
- Able to work independently and as part of a team environment
- Able to work in a safe manner and comply to company policies and procedures
- Possess good work ethics and attitude and can arrive to work on time as scheduled
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear.
- The employee is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
- The employee must lift and/or move up to 30 pounds overhead without assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
- Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift heavy items, up to 50 lbs unassisted on a regular basis
- Requires being outside a majority of the time in all outdoor weather conditions.
