Position: Bilingual School-Based Speech Paraprofessional for the 2024/2025 school year
Location: Moreno Valley, CA
The Paraprofessional is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department and/or supervising designee.

Duties:
- Adhering to all the policies and standards.
- Exhibiting compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations.
- Following supervisor's guidance and documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the SLP.
- Preparing materials for students with the guidance of your supervisor.
- Programming and support of instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices.
- When appropriate, serve as interpreter for students and families who do not speak English.
- When appropriate, provide bilingual support under the SLP in another language for individuals who do not speak English and English-language learners.
- Scheduling meetings at the request of supervisor.
- Preparing and maintaining classroom displays and/or bulletin boards.
- Helping with the supervision of students during transitions to and from speech and throughout their scheduled therapy.
- Implementing behavior management strategies based on the students' IEPs
- Preparing materials and supplies therapy sessions.
- Maintaining a safe learning environment.
- Documenting student absences on a weekly basis.
- Ensuring students are signed in to scheduled sessions in a timely manner.
- Help troubleshoot any connectivity issues.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills
- Successful completion of background screening and onboarding process
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Full command, verbal and written, of the English language
- Bilingual in English and Spanish

Compensation Range :
$20-25/hr (depending on experience)
