Position Summary:
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for providing detailed estimates for structural steel fabrication projects. This includes reviewing project specifications, coordinating with vendors, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Main Responsibilities:
- Providing detailed estimates for structural steel fabrication projects
- Reviewing project specifications and bid documents
- Coordinating with vendors to obtain pricing and negotiating buyouts when awarded projects
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously, including forecasting job requirements and meeting with customers and vendors to review jobs and establish RFIs as required
Qualifications:
- Experience in the steel industry
- Ability to read and understand contract drawings and specifications
- 5 or more years of knowledge in procurement of materials and coordination of quotes from vendors
- Computer proficiency is required, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience in estimating
- Experience with take-off software
- Knowledge of AISC standards and industry code
- Great teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with a great work ethic
