Job Purpose
The Purchasing Coordinator is an integral part of the Watson Metal Masters Purchasing team and reports to the General Manager. The Purchasing Coordinator will work closely with the Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, Planning, and Production teams to assess and procure materials required to support the most efficient and cost-effective production process. The ideal team player will possess strong problem-solving skills, high learning agility and the ability to deal with ambiguity and develop creative solutions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Create purchase orders and monitor due date reporting, supplier performance data, and material requirements data.
- Request quotes for materials.
- Work with the Engineering Team, Design Team, and Production Team to identify possible suppliers and materials.
- Monitor and Evaluate inventory levels.
- Reschedule and Expedite Requests.
- Support offsite divisions with purchasing requirements.
- Work with suppliers to quote and order products.
- Communicate with vendors regarding orders and expectations.
Education
- High School diploma is preferred, some college is preferred.
- 1 year of experience with the use of ERP software (i.e. Syteline).
- 1 year of purchasing/inventory control experience is preferred.
PC Skills
- Microsoft Excel - Proficient level
- Microsoft Outlook - Proficient level
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to use MRP systems and Microsoft Office to accomplish tasks.
- Able to problem solve and work well with others to resolve issues.
- Capable of transitioning tasks quickly as business needs require.
- Strong analytical skills and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- High degree of honesty and integrity.
- Works well with teammates and contributes to a team environment.
- Must be action-oriented, with a "whatever it takes" attitude.
- Must display consistent quality in work with a continuous improvement mindset.
