Responsibilities:
The Rapid Prototype Technician will support the business capture and product development organizations by maintaining the “Innovation Garage” development area and executing 3D print jobs. The Technician will work independently on a broad range of development activities. Detailed responsibilities are as follows:
- Maintain a safe live explosive work area and advise engineers on best safety practices
- Maintain accurate live and inert inventory, including weekly audits
- Perform maintenance and cleaning of 3D printers, including working with the facilities team to safely dispose of hazardous waste material and coordinating with outside vendors
- Stock and maintain hand-tools
- Execute 3D print jobs
- Maintain and re-tock 3D print material inventory
- Assist as needed on energetic prototype fabrication and test
The successful candidate will have 5 years of experience with the following skills:
- Handling, building, or testing explosive assemblies
- Maintaining accurate inventory
- Following written procedures
- Maintaining manufacturing or test equipment, including working with outside vendors on repairs and maintenance
- Safe operation of hand-held power tools
- Operation of 3D printers
- Basic 3D modelling
- Fabrication of test fixtures
- 3D printing including software, material postprocessing, and an understanding of the materials involved
- Understanding of material strengths
- Solid Works or other Cad modeling
- Engineering test instrumentation and data collection
- Microsoft Office
