Position Summary

Ensign College is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Director of Admissions & Recruitment. The director will be accountable for meeting key metrics outlined in the institution's strategic plan and will play a crucial role in building relationships with high schools, ecclesiastical leaders, and community leaders. This individual is responsible for developing recruitment strategies and fostering a collaborative and supportive environment in alignment with Ensign College's mission to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.

Essential Job Functions

  • Strategic Enrollment Management: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to attract, recruit, and enroll a qualified student body, aligning with the college's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Active Recruitment: Engage directly in recruitment activities, including visiting high schools and seminaries, attending firesides, and hosting on- and off-campus events to connect with prospective students and influencers.
  • Admissions Processing & Systems Oversight: Oversee the admissions application process, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with institutional policies. Manage key admission systems, including CES Central Processing and the ecclesiastical endorsement system.
  • Student-Centered Application Experience: Develop strategies to simplify and enhance the admissions process, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for applicants from start to finish. Identify and implement best practices to reduce application friction and improve student satisfaction.
  • Student Matriculation Oversight: Ensure that admitted students successfully transition into their first semester by implementing strategies to improve yield rates, reduce summer melt, and provide support through enrollment processes such as course registration, orientation, and financial aid navigation.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with local high schools, ecclesiastical leaders, and community organizations to enhance recruitment efforts and community engagement.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Monitor and analyze enrollment data, market trends, and recruitment metrics to inform strategies and ensure alignment with institutional goals.
  • Dual Enrollment Program Development: Lead the establishment and expansion of the dual enrollment program, collaborating with academic departments and external partners to provide high-quality educational opportunities for high school students.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor admissions staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on achieving enrollment targets and professional growth.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing department to develop and execute targeted campaigns that effectively promote Ensign College's programs and values.
  • Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all admissions processes adhere to ethical standards, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements, while implementing best practices in enrollment management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Master’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in admissions, enrollment management, or related areas within higher education, with demonstrated success in meeting enrollment goals.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Communication Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated aptitude for strategic planning, data analysis, and problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
  • Mission Alignment: A strong commitment to the values and mission of Ensign College, with an understanding of the unique aspects of working within an institution affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Community Engagement: Established experience in connecting with local high schools, community organizations, and ecclesiastical leaders.
  • Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with enrollment management software and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
