What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Mapper position at EnSiteUSA?
JOB SUMMARY
Uses AutoCAD Civil 3D software to create designs including, but not limited to plats, property sketches, alignment sheets, permit drawings, site-specific drawings, hydro static drawings, HDD’s, client-requested route-specific exhibits, and typical construction methods. Supports lead mapper, GIS design specialists, engineers and project managers by performing a variety of tasks. Uses engineering information such as excel tables, etc. to add information to drawings. Candidate should have a strong ability to move from task to task with previous knowledge of what is needed to complete the tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Processes project information provided by supervisor and directs other general mappers to assist
- Handles small projects from beginning to end, with efficiency and accuracy
- Updates and maintains deliverable drawings
- Creates drawings utilizing the most updated techniques in our field
- Ability to decipher through survey data and request information if needed to finish tasks
- Follows QA/QC procedures to meet client’s expectations on deliverables
- Raises any concerns that potentially could delay finishing a project by the deadline
- Ability to project or forecast time needed to complete tasks, assists with estimates and bids
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
- Conforms to company and client mapping standards
- Follows technical requirements, standards, and go-bys
- Will learn and teach others through Microsoft Teams meeting recordings
- Possesses advanced computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Good oral and written communication skills with all levels of the mapping team
- Possesses strong Drafting skills and has a high attention to detail, especially when creating plats
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D version 2020 or newer. GIS software experience is a plus
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or equivalent required, associate’s degree preferred
- Prefer 5 years of pipeline routing related experience
- Strong preference given to candidates with technical school education with emphasis on drafting and/or equivalent experience/training such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Map, MicroStation, BlueSky and Microsoft Office
- Certification in use of AutoCAD or be currently enrolled in an accredited Certification program, with previous mapping experience is needed for this advanced role
- Able to pass a pre-employment skills test (mock project and mapping questions)
