The Role
The Host plays a key role in creating a warm and welcoming dining experience for residents and guests at Enso Village. This position is responsible for greeting and seating residents and guests, managing reservations, coordinating with service staff, and ensuring a seamless flow of service throughout meal periods.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greeting & Seating: Welcome and seat residents and guests.
- Reservation & Call Management: Review and update phone messages and online reservations, return calls for confirmations, and assist with reservation organization.
- Seating Coordination: Work with the manager to create server sections and manage larger reservations efficiently.
- Phone & Takeout Orders: Answer calls within three rings, take to-go orders, and communicate messages to management.
- Service Support: Assist in food and beverage delivery, help transition between lunch and dinner, and communicate guest needs to servers and managers.
- Guest Experience: Guide guests through their dining experience, maintaining full knowledge of the menu and preparation methods, and ensuring a seamless service from start to finish.
- Service Protocols: Follow the Food & Beverage sequence of service as outlined by the Dining Room Manager and Executive Chef, ensuring proper procedures are consistently adhered to.
- Pre-bussing & Bussing: Clear and clean tables as needed during service, removing used dishes and glassware to maintain a tidy environment.
- Cleanliness & Safety: Address spills and broken glassware/dishes immediately, using floor signs when necessary to maintain safety.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean all equipment, tools, and supplies, and ensure that they are in good working order, following company policies and local health department guidelines.
- Teamwork & Communication: Work collaboratively with management and service staff to address guest needs and ensure smooth operations.
- Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive, respectful, and enthusiastic attitude toward all residents, guests and team members.
- Additional Duties: Perform opening and closing tasks, complete side work, and handle other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Experience: 1 year of host experience in a restaurant is required.
- Technical Skills: Experience working with a POS system is beneficial.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
- Certification: Food Handler certification is required.
- Schedule: Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 90% of the workday.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching, especially in tight spaces.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and hold up to 50 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits:
Enso Village is committed to equal pay and transparency. The hourly pay for this position ranges from $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, non-tipped. Compensation is based on experience, education, skills, and business considerations.
