The Opportunity
At Ensocell we are using cutting-edge single cell genomics, spatial genomics, AI-based computational technologies, and advanced biotherapeutic discovery technologies to discover and develop pioneering new therapeutics.
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join the Biotherapeutics Discovery group at our Alameda, CA site. As an integral member of the Biotherapeutics team, you will play a crucial role in discovering and developing novel biotherapeutics for chronic human diseases.
The candidate must have demonstrable experience with antibody or recombinant protein expression and purification in a biotherapeutics discovery setting.
What this role will Involve
- Express antibodies and other proteins using mammalian expression systems
- Purify antibodies and other proteins using a variety of chromatographic techniques
- Perform protein characterization assays by different biophysical and biochemical methods, including affinity measurements, ELISA, cell binding, and developability assessment
- Analyze and communicate results to the Biotherapeutics team and to interdisciplinary project teams.
What we expect from you
- BA or MS degree in molecular biology, structural biology, biophysics, biochemistry, or related disciplines, and a minimum of 5 or 2 years, respectively, of industry experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with mammalian cell expression systems
- Expertise with protein purification, including using and establishing new methods in protein purification platforms
- Familiarity with antibody discovery and bispecific antibody engineering is a plus
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with strong collaborative skills working in cross-functional teams and a start-up environment
