We’re hiring an entry level Geologist to work with our Durango, Colorado team. In this role, you’ll work on a variety of technical projects from simple to complex. You’ll spend time working outdoors performing field tasks, and you’ll work in the office conducting research and writing technical reports. Interested? Keep reading.

Responsibilities

As an associate level professional at Ensolum, your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, and they will typically include:

• Collecting soil, groundwater, and air samples for field and/or laboratory analyses
• Perform site inspections, including but not limited to walking surveys, stormwater inspections, site reconnaissance, and project oversight
• Support asbestos, lead, and industrial hygiene sampling, surveying, and reporting
• Creating detailed maps, lithologic logs, and cross-sections
• Gathering, tabulating, and analyzing data
• Operating and maintaining field equipment and instrumentation
• Researching federal and state rules and regulations regarding environmental permitting, compliance, and remediation
• Learning how to: manage projects within designated timeframes and budgets, apply regulatory policies to clean up the environment, and implement health and safety best practices

Qualifications

We’re always looking for people who are self-motivated, learning-oriented, and client-centric. And to be considered for this role at Ensolum, you’ll also need a few more qualification requirements:

• BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
• 0 - 2 years of experience with environmental field sampling and data collection
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Safety awareness and understanding of safe work practices
• Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and personal vehicle
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
• Able to pass drug & alcohol screening and background check
• Requires up to 15% overnight travel

It would be great if you also have:

• Prior experience working in oil field-related industry
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
