Senior / Principal Scientist, Genomics

We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated Senior Scientist or Principal Scientist to join our research team. In this role, you will lead a team of scientists on the genomics team. You will be expected to have a commitment to experimental work, leading from the bench, and be an independent thinker that can communicate and interact effectively across teams. Your work will revolutionize the reach and access ofthe curative power of genomic medicines for patients with serious diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of scientists in the genomics group while fostering collaborations with the other departments and teams at Ensoma.
  • Perform lab-based experimental design, as well as data interpretation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects with bioinformatics, regulatory, preclinical, and clinical teams.
  • Collaborate with the bioinformatics team to develop and implement pipelines for analyzing large genomic datasets.
  • Present scientific findings and project updates to senior leadership and at conferences and meetings.
  • Stay abreast of advancements of genomics technologies, and implement relevant technologies
  • Manage and develop a team of three scientists.

Qualifications

Required

  • Ph.D. in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a closely related field with a minimum of eight years of relevant in the biotechnology and / or pharmaceutical industries, or academic settings.
  • Experience in a preclinical setting or previous roles with responsibilities in drug development pipelines, especially those focused on gene therapy or genetic medicine.
  • Experience in genomic assay development, specifically for gene therapy applications.
  • Deep knowledge of genomic technologies such as NGS, CRISPR, ISA, single-cell genomics, or similar.
  • Proficiency in bioinformatics, data analysis, and computational tools.
  • Proven experience in managing a core service and interactions with CROs.
  • Preferred

  • Experience in genome-wide off-target analysis
  • Experience with IND documentation preparation
  • Experience in working with clinical data
