ABOUT THE POSITION
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will determine the most effective ways to use the basic factors of production—people, machines, materials, information, and energy to manufacture per design intent. The primary concern will be increasing productivity & quality through the management of process and giving guidance to manufacturing engineers. Candidate will carefully study the product requirements, use mathematical methods to meet those requirements, and design manufacturing and information systems to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently. Candidate will use management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost analysis and help design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality. Candidate must be able to work independently and work well with others and be willing to understand others’ concerns.
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Investigate solutions to manufacturing problems.
- Lead a growing team of manufacturing engineers whom this role will have ability to hire.
- Monitor the general flow of operations and analyze it.
- Responsible for all process documentation unless process is design engineering owned SP.
- Communicate recommendations on how to improve and implement changes to manufactured and assembled parts on the production floor for productivity.
- Assist in cost studies.
- Identify needed tooling requirements.
- Analyze and implement outsourcing partners.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, work orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities and ensure that they are met.
- Regulate and alter workflow schedules according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times to expedite production operations.
- Confer with vendors, staff, and management regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.
ABOUT THE REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING or equivalent.
- Aviation experience preferred.
- 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineer position.
- Good problem solver.
- Organized.
- Ability to prioritize.
- Attention to detail.
- Team player able to work with minimum or no supervision.
- Advanced Math skills.
- Good communication skills; verbal and written
