What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Router - 2nd shift position at Enstrom Helicopter?
Position: 3 AXIS CNC ROUTER – Sheet Metal
Reports To: Plant Manager
Status: Non-Exempt
BASIC WORKER FUNCTION:
Programs, sets up and operates multi-axis computerized numerically controlled CNC Router to produce work pieces, holding close tolerances. Maintains a high standard of product and productivity with minimal supervision.
ADDITIONAL GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
Evaluate blueprint and verify part program for production. As required, programs or creates programs to produce designated parts. Installs holding device and any required tooling. Checks and adjusts feeds and speeds to insure optimum usage/efficiency. Perform Nesting and Optimization operations on CAM program. Create and edit nesting files. Changes worn cutting tools when necessary. Obtains first-run work piece and verifies dimensional tolerances. Gets check and sign-off from Inspection. Keeps records as required.
Trains other workers. Serves as consultation resource with other workers. Observes all safety regulations. Other duties as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to create and edit CAD files for manufacturing prints.
Ability to set up and run 3-axis capable router.
Ability to hold tolerances of .005 on router.
Ability to read and interpret control console.
Ability to keep current with technology necessary to perform job more effectively as technology evolves.
Ability to use various sophisticated measuring tools and devices.
Ability to read blueprints, job orders and specifications.
Verify revision levels between manufacturing files and engineering prints.
Ability to perform part probing and create reverse engineered files.
Ability to transfer, import and export DXF files.
Ability to grind and sharpen tools.
Ability to utilize high level shop mathematics including trigonometry.
Understanding of and the ability to calculate bend compensations and allowances.
