What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA - Receiving Inspector position at Enstrom Helicopter?
Position: RECEIVING INSPECTOR
Reports To: Head of QA Operations
Status: Non-Exempt
BASIC WORKER FUNCTION:
Inspects all purchased and processed incoming parts and material for conformity to standards and verifies that parts and material received conforms to blueprints, certifications and purchase orders.
ADDITIONAL GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
Examines parts and materials for surface defects incurred in transit. Measures, parts with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauges, etc. to assure conformance with inspection characteristics from engineering drawings or specifications. Counts items received to insure completeness of order. Stamps approved items and attaches slip to rejected products. May test hardness of metals, may read blueprints to determine specifications, may review work orders, purchase orders to determine conformance of parts or material. Maintains vendor or plant records and submits data on non-conforming parts or material. Maintains tools and equipment used.
Trains other workers. Serves as consultation resource with other workers. Observes all safety regulations. Other duties as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Basic experience and ability in inspection and inspection procedures.
Ability to work with blueprints, specifications, work orders, purchase orders and certifications.
Ability to work from the Enstrom Quality Assurance Manual.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including sign bars, “jo” blocks, verniers, calipers, surface height and depth gauges, micrometers, protractors, scales and other types of measuring devices.
Ability to keep records.
Ability to use shop mathematics.
