Position Description and Qualifications
Job Posting Summary:
Responsible for working with the Ensworth Aquatics Head Coach and Head Age Group Coach to provide support for training groups within the Ensworth Aquatics program.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Abides by Ensworth’s Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct
- Commits to the ideals expressed in Ensworth’s Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement
- Works under of the direction of Head Coach and/or Head Age Group Coach to:
- Oversee development and implementation of season and weekly plans for in-water training
- Oversee practice group(s) on a daily basis
- Complete swim meet entries and attend swim meets (as assigned)
- Adhere to consistent teaching terminology
- Communicate consistently and effectively with athletes and parents
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree a plus
- CPR Required, Lifeguard certification required, CDL License preferred
- At least (1) year of experience in related application/field
- Basic understanding and ability to use computers and technology including (e.g., Microsoft Windows and Office products, basic office equipment, projectors, mechanical equipment, etc.) TeamUnify experience preferred
- Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment, including students, co-workers, parents, alumnae, volunteers, and the public.
- Adaptability, honesty, self-reliance, teamwork, dependability, flexibility, willingness to listen and learn, work ethic, determination, persistence, problem-solving skills, loyalty, and congeniality are essential.
- Must successfully complete background screening and verification
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Frequently works in standard office and climate, frequently works on pool deck, infrequently works outdoors in varying weather conditions and climate
- Regularly uses close and distance vision, Works at a computer screen for extended periods of time, Ability to observe students from various distances
- Frequently required to move around the facility, Works at a desk for extended periods of time, occasionally positions oneself to work with small children on the floor, frequently moves around campus, ascends ladders, etc.
- Ability to occasionally move items/students weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Sometimes works in a stressful environment, effectively dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts, Stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions
- Ability to frequently work flexible hours to support before and after-school or weekend events
