Position Description and Qualifications
Job Posting Summary :
Ensworth School seeks a dynamic and intellectually engaging educator to teach 9th Grade Computational Thinking, AP Computer Science, and Math courses at the high school level. This position will also be responsible for helping other faculty incorporate coding and computational thinking across disciplines where applicable and designing future coding-based electives in the coming years. Strong candidates will have demonstrated the ability to develop strong relationships with a diverse student body and to collaborate with colleagues across disciplines. A love for teaching high school students is essential to this position, as are the abilities to align teaching and learning to Ensworth's Core Skills Framework.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions :
- Abides by Ensworth's Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct
- Commits to the ideals expressed in Ensworth's Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement
- Adheres to the Essential Expectations of an Ensworth Faculty, Staff, or Administrator
- Teaches the equivalent of 5 courses per semester in Computational Thinking, AP Computer Science, and Math
- Provides continual assessment of student progress and communicates academic performance through the use of status reports and online grade books
- Works with colleagues across disciplines to incorporate computational thinking and coding into other courses
- Serves as an advisor to a small group of students and monitor the health and wellbeing of each advisee's academic, social, and personal life at Ensworth
- Provides student support and supervision both inside and outside the classroom
- Other duties as assigned
