What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant position at ENT Associates?
Our specialty medical office is seeking an individual who has experience working in a high-volume medical office. The position requires the ability to multitask, be detailed oriented and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
Excellent attendance is required.
We work exclusively within an Electronic Medical Records program so individuals with great computer skills are highly preferred. Please make sure your resume details your experience with any EMR program. Travel between multiple local locations is necessary so reliable transportation is a must. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Warmly greeting patients and visitors in person or on the telephone
Professionally answering or referring inquiries to the appropriate person or parties
Completing check-in/out functions as directed
Scheduling, rescheduling, appointment reminders, and canceling patient appointments
Mailing updated patient forms as appropriate when scheduling
Entering and validating patient insurance information for scheduling purposes
Daily review of patient accounts for insurance status, patient balances due missing information, etc.
Collection of balances due, copay and/or deductibles according to standard practice
Sorting, filling, and forwarding of incoming electronic and manual faxes appropriately.
Scanning and attaching all pertinent documentation into appropriate patient’s medical record
Maintaining a clean, orderly work environment
Overseeing flow of waiting areas, monitoring patient wait time and communicates delays to patients
Obtain medication history and enter all pertinent patient information in EMR
Prepare exam rooms and escort patient to exam room for evaluation
Assists physician with patient care while in exam room
Strong knowledge of medical terminology
Ensure a positive experience for our patient
Clean instruments and exam rooms after patient evaluation
Communicate effectively with all patients and provide timely responses to patient inquiries; document conversations in the EMR
Perform audiograms on patient's.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
