Medical Assistant
This Medical Assistant role will also require Front Desk job duties. The Medical Assistant will report to the Practice Administrator. The salary starts at $20 / hr. $4000 RETENTION BONUS! Occasional travel to the Barrington, Hoffman Estates, and Arlington Heights practices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES of the Medical Assistant
- The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting.
- The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, upkeeping of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing.
- The Medical Assistant will assist the physician in office-based surgeries and must know sterile techniques, and how to assist during a medical procedure.
- The Medical Assistant will administer intramuscular injections, immunizations, and over-the-counter medications under the direction of a Physician.
- The Medical Assistant must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds.
- The Medical Assistant will also perform front desk duties such as answer phones, check patients in / out, scheduling appointments, and verifying patients' insurances.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS of the Medical Assistant
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current CPR Certification. Current Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT (preferred). All employees are required to provide proof of vaccination or exemption.
WAGE
20 / hr or more Travel Reimbursement $4000 RETENTION BONUS
HOURS / DAYS
Monday-Friday, 8 : 00am-5 : 30pm.
