White Lake Dock & Dredge (a division of ENTACT) is a premier provider of sediment remediation services consisting of environmental dredging, capping, sediment management, marine construction and more. The ENTACT and White Lake Dock & Dredge teams work together to provide innovative solutions to challenging sediment remediation projects. White Lake Dock & Dredge was established in 2000 with a specific focus on these unique and challenging sediment projects.
 
White Lake Dock & Dredge is presently seeking an experienced Project Manager in the sediment remediation and marine construction industry.  This individual will work closely with Senior Project Managers and Project Directors to prepare proposals, manage projects on-site while overseeing and developing field personnel and maintain strong relationships and communications with clients and consultants.
 
Position Summary:
The position of Dredging Project Manager will assume the pivotal role of overseeing all on-site project operations, meticulously ensuring that projects are executed with the utmost focus and adherence to safety, schedule, budget, and site plans. This individual will exhibit a high level of attention to detail, adept time management skills, and a “lead from the front” attitude. The Associate will direct and supervise a diverse team of Associates including project administrators, field engineers, and field managers. Associate must be open to periods of sustained project-based travel. HAZWOPER training is highly preferred but not required. Must have a valid Driver’s license with no driving restrictions which interfere with job requirements.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for a safety culture that plans, leads, and directs safe work.
  • Provide initial client contact to assess scope of work and resources required to successfully complete project.
  • Assist with estimating and proposals of bid opportunities.
  • Be able to understand/review project specifications, drawings, takeoff information, production rates, subcontractors and overall approach.
  • Manage construction work to ensure project is constructed according to design, budget and schedule.
  • Responsible for project schedules.
  • Responsible for providing monthly cost and revenue forecasts.
  • Responsible for accurate production reporting and interfacing with client representatives.
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, provide day-to-day guidance of onsite administrative).
  • Responsible for understanding of general contract administration and a complete understanding of all project contract requirements. Responsible for recognizing changes in project scope and or conditions.
  • Provide technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, construction means and methods and equipment. Start and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
  • Responsible for productivity and performance of the projects.
  • Work closely with Senior Project Managers and Project Directors to develop skills and knowledge of the sediment remediation and marine construction industry.
  • Responsible for on-site management of projects which will require travel throughout the United States.
 
Skills/Experience Required:
  • Competence in Primavera P6, Microsoft Projects, and AutoCAD software.
  • Computer skills including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Projects, and Excel.
  • Experience in the dredging, capping, and/or marine construction industry is preferred.
  • Live within West Michigan or are willing to relocate.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to take the initiative.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Team player with the ability to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Good problem solving/decision making skills.
  • Familiar with USCG regulations applicable to the work
                                                           
Physical Demands/Visual Requirements:
Physical, visual, and situational activities that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Work is performed while standing or walking outdoors or in an office environment.
  • Must be capable of working under physical stress conditions such as heat stress and cold stress during various weather conditions and potential long workdays.
  • Possibility of use of respiratory equipment (i.e. half-face, full-face, SCBA, etc.).
  • Heat extremes when wearing certain types of PPE.  Wear Level C and D PPE including cotton, Tyvek, chemical protective coveralls, eye and face protection, hand protection, etc.  Potential for Level A and B PPE exists.
  • Climbing stairs and/or ladders to reach elevated workstations.
  • Working on elevations such as scaffolding, bridges, buildings, etc.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 1 to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Donning of varying types of personal protective equipment (PPE) as project requirements and conditions warrant.  Minimum PPE includes steel toe safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs and reflective safety vest.
  • Working in loud or noisy environments.
  • Ability to give clear and precise verbal and written instruction to all crew members, including when under pressure.
  • Match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
  • See objects or movement of objects to one’s side when the eyes are focused forward
  • Hear the direction from which a sound originated.
  • Frequent face-to-face interaction with others. Listening to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate.
  • Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to visually see and read blueprints, charts, graphs and reports.
 
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:
Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include:
 
  • Outside construction site, onsite office space.
  • The terrain is rugged and may be difficult to navigate.
  • Dusty and windy atmospheres.
  • Confined spaces.
  • Noisy work environments.
  • Contaminated atmospheres (i.e. fumes, vapors, lead dust, H2S, etc.).
 
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Different types of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be worn including, but not limited to hard hat, hearing protection such as ear plugs or muffs, eye protection such as safety glasses, goggles, face shield, etc., welders helmet, safety vest, various types of gloves including leather, Nitrile, latex, etc., steel toe boots, and various respiratory protection such as dust masks, half face and full face respirators, SCBAs, APRs, etc. may be required depending on site conditions.  Protective coveralls include cotton, Tyvek, fire retardant, chemical protective, etc.
