About the Company
We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Project Manager to lead and oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of asphalt paving and roadway construction projects. This role requires a strong background in asphalt paving/resurfacing, roadway rehabilitation, and site development. The ideal candidate will manage all phases of construction, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
About the Role
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of asphalt paving and roadway construction projects from start to finish.
- Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Collaborate with estimators, subcontractors, suppliers, field crews, and clients to ensure seamless execution.
- Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and RFPs to guide project execution.
- Monitor and report on project progress, including cost tracking, work schedules, and quality control.
- Identify and mitigate construction risks, conflicts, and challenges proactively.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and company standards on job sites.
- Provide leadership to foremen, crews, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support value engineering efforts and implement cost-effective solutions when appropriate.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, resolve issues, and maintain strong client relations.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; or equivalent field experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in asphalt paving, roadway construction, or heavy civil infrastructure.
- Proven track record managing DOT or municipal paving projects valued between $1M and $25M.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt paving operations, equipment, and production methods.
- Proficient with construction management software (e.g., HCSS, Procore, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on construction environment.
