Supervises assigned team and all assigned estimated, sold quoted and time and material projects, many with HVAC emphasis, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution and coordination with sales team while leading a team, or teams, to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources. Accountable for assigned projects’ scope of work, schedule, and budget.
Responsibilities:
- While working to support the Mechanical Division and Service Manager, responsible for day-to-day management of assigned personnel within team. Responsible for long range planning and look ahead in conjunction with Sales and Operations Staff.
- Review assigned technicians weekly time, purchases and expenses
- Review and approve vacation and PTO requests
- Conduct yearly Goal Setting and Performance Reviews for direct reports
- Provide technical knowledge and coaching for direct reports
- Conduct one Safety Visit per month
- Responsible for timely on budget completion of assigned projects and customer satisfaction.
- Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex contracting applications.
- Supervises the preparation of plans and specifications for the design/installation of solutions in buildings and institutions.
- Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
- Controls expenses by monitoring assigned project budget of individual and assigned team.
- Prepares sub-contractor request for quotation’s including: scope statements; plans and milestone dates; specs; and billing schedule of values.
- Receives and qualifies subcontractor proposals; supervises work of project assigned staff, subcontractors and installers.
- Meets with contractors and owners to discuss scope of project; budgets; performance; and close-out.
- Ensures that quality standards are maintained for assigned projects.
- Establishes a professional relationship with the customer and interfaces constantly to maintain accurate status reports and project reviews.
- Obtains acceptance and timely sign-off of the project by the customer.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.
- Some travel with occasional overnight stays
- Minimum 5 years’ experience hands on experience or equivalent required.
- Must have proven track record and strong references.
- Experience estimating is not mandatory but preferred.
- Able to communicate with others both written and orally
- Valid Driver’s license and good driving record required
- Able to travel locally as required
- Mobility within the office and on construction job sites
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
