About the Role :
Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Manager to oversee all aspects of our client's logistics department. This critical role will be responsible for developing and implementing effective logistics strategies to optimize efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure the timely delivery of goods to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in a manufacturing environment, specifically with experience using an ERP system (Epicor preferred). JIT manufacturing experience is a significant plus. This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity.
Responsibilities :
- Strategic Planning : Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures; collaborate with other departments to align logistics activities with business goals; identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
- Transportation Management : Manage transportation activities, including carrier selection, route planning, and freight negotiation; ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards; monitor transportation costs and performance metrics.
- Distribution and Fulfillment : Develop distribution strategies to ensure timely product delivery; monitor order fulfillment processes and implement measures to improve accuracy and on-time delivery; work closely with sales and customer service to address customer inquiries and resolve delivery issues; coordinate with vendors and suppliers.
- Team Leadership and Development : Recruit, train, and supervise logistics staff; provide coaching and performance feedback; foster a positive work environment.
- Technology and Systems : Implement and maintain logistics software systems (experience with ERP systems, Epicor preferred, is essential); stay informed about emerging technologies; work with IT staff to address system issues and implement upgrades.
