Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Collection Specialist to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in driving debt recovery and cash collection efforts, directly impacting financial performance. Reporting to the Senior Collection Specialist, the Junior Collection Specialist will help ensure an efficient sales-to-cash process by meeting monthly collection goals and managing aged debt.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts.
- Investigate historical data to resolve account discrepancies.
- Contact customers via phone and email to collect payments.
- Implement effective collection practices to encourage timely payments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed account notes.
- Report on collection activities and progress.
- Support other finance-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of business-to-business collection experience.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and ability to work across multiple systems.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to research customer accounts.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Must work in the La Vista, NE office Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM.
- Occasional travel required (up to 5% overnight and 5% day travel).
- Strengths Finder and Excel assessments will be part of the interview process.
- Must pass a background check prior to start date.
- Standard physical requirements of an office environment.
