Summary:
Seeking a Plant Environmental Coordinator with a strong background in EHS to oversee environmental compliance, training, and policy implementation within an engineering environment.
Requirements:
- AAS in Engineering, Science, or related field
- 5 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience
- Experience in Mining, Construction or Manufacturing industries
- Proficiency with MS Office tools
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of RCRA, EPCRA, TSCA, CAA, CWA, DOT regulations
- Familiarity with Title V air permit compliance and water permits management
- Ability to manage waste handling and environmental monitoring tasks effectively
- Experience with environmental auditing and performance metrics
Responsibilities:
- Ensure plant operations maintain compliance with all federal, state, county and local operating permits
- Monitor facility environmental compliance including recordkeeping and reporting for air and water permits
- Develop policies to meet plant environmental policies and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular inspections of waste handling areas and manage waste shipments
- Manage oil and chemical storage areas according to regulations
- Refill spill kits regularly and ensure universal waste storage containers are compliant
- Assist with spill response measures and regulatory interactions as needed
- Review environmental PMs weekly and address any items noted
- Manage site training processes for new hires and annual regulatory compliance
- Assist with internal/external audits and address findings/gaps
- Contribute to monthly SSEP Scorecard and Performance Metrics development
- Coordinate monitoring of plant environmental compliance programs/issues/results
- Perform facility inspections/sampling/monitoring to meet site obligations
- Maintain accurate environmental records/reports; draft/submit necessary reports
- Provide support on environmental/regulatory issues; partake in incident investigations/root cause analysis
- Collect/review data for annual sustainability reporting
