Backup Administrator

Position Overview

Entegration is growing and seeking an experienced Backup Administrator. This position will be focused on supporting our client, a healthcare system in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operations of backups, ensuring the stability, reliability, recoverability and management of backup and recovery processes. This position requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual who can troubleshoot and solve complex problems related to data backup, protection, and recovery. They must be able to create and implement backup plans, develop recovery strategies and protocols, set objectives and guidelines, and conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure the systems efficiency

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and manage backup/recovery systems and processes
• Perform regular backups of critical data and test to verify recovery capabilities
• Monitor backup systems and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Managing and monitoring daily backup operations
• Collaborate with IT team on a daily basis.
• Installing, configuring, and testing new backup software, licenses and components
• Ensuring security and accessibility of organization's data
• Maintain accurate documentation of backup and recovery procedures and policies
• Monitoring data replication from primary to secondary data centers
• Develop disaster recovery plans and participate in executing those plans when necessary
• Work with IT team and Client to establish data retention and archival policies
• Assist in the selection and implementation of new backup and recovery solutions if needed
• evaluate network and systems to make sure that they perform reliably and to anticipate new requirements as needs change
• Work with IT Team to perform backup and restore operations on multiple operating systems including windows, ubuntu/Linux and VMWare servers.
• Perform capacity planning: monitor and fine tune NAS hardware and software for high availability.
• Create storage copies of SQL databases and restores etc.
• Design and implement an archival process of user home drives and shared drives following compliance guidelines.
• Implement cost saving solutions with storage, backup and restore processes.
• Conduct backups and restores of various data and ensuring data integrity and business continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field
• 3 years of experience in backup and recovery administration
• Working knowledge of backup and recovery tools such as Commvault, Veeam, or similar
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution
